The NGO Committee on Mental Health Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was established in 1996 in collaboration with the Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations. A coalition of NGOs in Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, the Department of Public Information, the private and academic sectors, the creation of this Committee has fostered a strong collaboration that has strengthened the efforts to bring understanding of and action on Mental Health issues to the global agenda of the United Nations.
